At Guitar Anatomy, we’ve spent years refining our own finishing formulas through real workshop use. Produced in-house in our UK workshop, our Finishing Oil is the result of practical testing, day-to-day development and working with the tonewoods used throughout guitar making.
The Guitar Anatomy Finishing Oil is a high-build, fast-drying oil designed specifically for finishing unfinished guitar necks and bodies. It applies in thin, even coats that can be built up gradually, allowing you to control exactly how the finish develops. With additional coats, it can be polished to a near-gloss sheen, while lighter applications leave a natural satin appearance.
The formula brings out the grain and colour of the wood without hiding its natural character. Once cured, it creates a durable protective finish that handles regular playing, handling and environmental changes reliably. This is a finishing oil designed for practical use: predictable, easy to control, and consistent from coat to coat.
Developed around real guitar-building workflows, it dries quickly, builds cleanly and can be polished to the level you prefer. Whether you’re finishing a new neck, restoring an older instrument or refining the surface of a body, it offers a level of control and dependability that general-purpose wood oils don’t provide.
Usage Instructions
Apply a thin, even coat with a clean cloth or applicator, working along the grain. Allow to dry fully before applying additional coats. For a higher build, apply multiple coats and lightly buff between layers if required. Once the final coat has cured, the surface can be polished or left natural.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark place to maintain the quality and performance of the oil.
Each bottle is mixed, bottled and quality-checked by Guitar Anatomy, ensuring consistent results from batch to batch. It’s the finishing oil we rely on for our own builds, and the one we’re proud to put our name on.
